Explain which external factors influence Film Noir.
The second world war had an impact on the film marking coming out of Hollywood as Film Noir emerged in the early 1940’s and during the end of WW2 and the years shortly after. Film Noir’s were made by European filmmakers who had fled from Europe who were influenced by German expressionism with there gain pessimistic outlook due to what they had seen in Europe.
